Best Adviser for Mental Health Strategy & Support
Entries in this category should demonstrate how the adviser has helped a SME or large corporate client to address the mental health needs of their workforce. Successful entries will be able to demonstrate how the adviser has made a full assessment of the client’s existing provision and taken steps to understand the client’s industry-specific needs when it comes to mental health. Entries could display how new or additional products or services were implemented or how a client’s existing solutions were better utilised. Entries could include evidence of how the adviser helped the client to communicate and engage with their workforce. Entries should also set out exactly how the approach taken had a positive impact on absence, presenteeism and productivity. Evidence of return on investment will also be acknowledged. Entries that demonstrate how the adviser helped the client to support the mental health needs of both senior management and the workforce at large will also be well received.

 

Best Adviser for Workplace Wellbeing
This category rewards an adviser that can demonstrate how the scheme they implemented has linked effectively with other company benefits and how it has improved workplace wellbeing. We are looking for an example of a scheme that was run efficiently and had solid support behind it and one that was designed in a way which protected the client’s interests in light of legislative issues. The positive impact on both the employer and employees should be made clear. Evidence of a positive impact on absence, presenteeism and productivity should also be made clear.

 

Best Adviser for Individual International Clients
Awarded to an adviser who has tailor-made a sustainable and affordable client solution taking into account the individual’s overall health needs, financial situation in an intercultural environment.

 

Best Adviser for Corporate International Clients
Awarded to an adviser who has ensured that the client’s claims costs were managed effectively and ensured that additional services aside from claims were made available to scheme members, highlighting any specific examples of difficult claims if possible.

 

Best Adviser for High Net Worth Individuals
We are looking for advisers who have delivered a “gold plated” healthcare solution to a high net worth client – while at the same time carrying out due diligence on the cost of that solution. Entries could comprise of a comprehensive solution which includes “prestige” benefits such as, for example, rehabilitation in a health resort and full refund for routine maternity, and which may offer a concierge service to ensure a hassle-free claims service. A flexible approach to client needs is also important and entries could comprise of a solution which is fully insured, fully self-pay or a combination of insured and self-pay. Entries could also demonstrate how the adviser has considered how the solution they have provided fits in to their client’s broader investment and financial portfolio, including their other insurance needs. Entries will be accepted where the client is a high net worth individual who is a full-time resident of one country or who is more globally-mobile. Please note that entries in this category – as in all categories – should be anonymised and the client’s identity should not be disclosed without their explicit permission.

 

Best Adviser for Individual Healthcare
In this category we are looking for an adviser who provides a holistic approach to individual and family healthcare advice. Someone who can demonstrate they have explored their client’s health needs and financial situaton, to recommend a bespoke package from the core healthcare products: PMI, cash plans, dental & optical insurance.

 

Best Adviser for Group Healthcare
In this category we are looking for an adviser who provides a holistic approach to company healthcare advice. Someone who can demonstrate they have explored their client’s health needs and financial situation, to recommend a bespoke package from the core healthcare products: PMI, cash plans, healthcare trusts, dental & optical insurance.

 

Best Adviser for Individual Protection
In this category we are looking for an adviser who provides a holistic approach to individual and family protection advice. Someone who can demonstrate they have explored their client’s health needs and financial situation, to recommend a bespoke package from the core protection products: income protection, critical illness & life cover.

 

Best Adviser for Group Protection
In this category we are looking for an adviser who provides a holistic approach to company protection advice. Someone who can demonstrate they have explored their client’s health needs and financial situation, to recommend a bespoke package from the core protection products: income protection, critical illness & life cover.

 

Business Innovation Award
This winner of this category will be an adviser that can demonstrate how their entrepreneurial spirit has helped it to grow as a business and had a positive impact on clients and the wider market. Examples of entries could include the development or utilisation of technology to better support clients, improve sales and help the adviser to stand out from its competitors. Entries could also show how an adviser firm has introduced new business processes to improve how it operates as a business in its own right – examples could include a fresh approach to training & development and qualifications, a different approach to remuneration or perhaps an example of how it is recruiting fresh blood into the industry. Entries could also include an example of how an advisory firm has developed new strategic partnerships either in terms of distribution or the development of professional relationships. Entries which demonstrate how an adviser has developed a bespoke/proprietary proposition in association with an insurer, service provider or other organisation would also be welcome.

Achieving a balanced approach to sales and retention is crucial for any advisory business. Getting the balance right is critical. We are looking for a business that has implemented strategies to deliver both exceptional retention and new sales performance in the last year.

 

Best Adviser Customer Service
Advisers will need to demonstrate they have taken care of their customer’s needs by providing and delivering professional, helpful, high quality service and assistance before, during and after the sale is made. We are looking for proof of exemplary customer service.

 

Rising Star Adviser
Awarded to an employee who has started working in a client-facing role in the health insurance and /or protection industry after April 2016. This individual will not only be able to demonstrate impressive sales figures but has proved to be a genuine asset to the company. They will also have shown care, attention and empathy towards clients and have gone the extra mile. They should be someone who management have identified as having great potential.

 

Outstanding Contribution Award
A special award rewarding someone who has made an outstanding contribution to the health insurance and /or protection industry.

 

Adviser of the Year
The winner is decided by Health Insurance & Protection Daily Editor, David Sawers and the judging panel who select the winner based on the entry/ies which they believe stand/s head and shoulders above the rest.
